Deborah Fischer (b. 1991, São Paulo, Brazil; moved to Kibbutz Kfar Haruv, Israel, 1993) completed her B.F.A. cum laude at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in 2020, including a student exchange at École nationale supérieure d'arts de Paris-Cergy in 2019. Fischer is currently pursuing her MFA at Rhode Island School of Design, class of 2026. A recipient of the Fulbright Scholarship (2024), the America-Israel Cultural Foundation Award (2020), and the Excellence Award for her final project at Bezalel Academy (2020), Fischer has exhibited her work in Israel and internationally. Recent exhibitions include her solo show, My Savior, Yardenit (2024) at Barbur Gallery in Jerusalem; duo works and group exhibitions at Kav 16 Gallery (Tel Aviv, 2023), Edmond de Rothschild Foundation Israel (Tel Aviv, 2022), Beita Jerusalem (2022), Tel Aviv Museum of Art (2022), and Asia Milano Design Week at the Israeli Pavilion in collaboration with Ann Deych (2019). Fischer has participated in several residencies, including “Agadat Poalim” at Samar Residency (2022, duo with Yarden Colsey), Kfar Shaul Residency (2022, duo with Yarden Colsey), and “Top of the Topya” at HaMiffal Greenhouse Residence (2020). She was also an active member of the HaMiffal Art Collective from 2016 to 2022.

Fischer's research-driven installations merge local narratives with fantastical elements, examining peripheral sites and systems. Her work crafts skewed realities rooted in place, offering fresh interpretations of the local. Described as "honey traps," these immersive installations use material, place, and story to unveil unexpected depth, challenging cultural, environmental, and societal norms.
