Lea Nikel is the winner of the Israel Prize for Painting in 1985 and has won many prizes such as the Dizengoff Prize on behalf of the Tel Aviv Municipality, the Gemzo Prize on behalf of the Tel Aviv Museum, an honorary Doctor of Philosophy degree on behalf of the Weizmann Institute of Science, a medal on behalf of UNESCO for her work and Decoration of Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters by the French Minister of Foreign Affairs.

 

Nickel represented Israel in 1964 at the Venice Biennale.

 

She presented in many solo and group exhibitions in galleries and museums all over the country and in the largest cities in the world: a retrospective in the Tel Aviv Museum, the Israel Museum in Jerusalem, the Haifa Museum, galleries and museums in Paris, Holland, New York, London, Japan and more.
