Lucy Elkivity | Jakaranda
Born in Uruguay, is a multidisciplinary visual artist whose creative practice bridges cultural landscapes and artistic expressions. A graduate of the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, Elkoviti crafts her work from her studio located at Kibbutz Galuyot 45 in Tel Aviv, where she is an active member of the local art community.
Her artistic journey is marked by significant recognition, having curated 13 solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions both in Israel and internationally. Notably, she has been featured in the prestigious first and second Biennales at the Israel Museum and the First Biennale of Drawing in Rishon LeZion.
Beyond her visual art practice, Elkoviti's profound fascination with language and letterforms has led her to explore calligraphy and poetry. This passion culminated in the publication of her poetry book "Fields Near the House", a collection of haiku that reflects her nuanced artistic sensibility.
Her remarkable contributions to the art world have been acknowledged through various awards, including the Pnina Yochtman Artist Prize, illustration awards from Ukraine, and an artist residency in Spain.
Her work embodies a unique intersection of cultural identities, linguistic exploration, and visual storytelling, establishing her as a distinctive voice in contemporary Israeli art.
